Tuesday & Wednesday in Review

26 Aug

So a lot has happened in the past 2 days (not really). But I have a very rich thought life, so they seemed very busy.  I’ll just give you the highlights:

Making the Cut Days 2 & 3

I’ve only had 2 workouts and I’ve already messed up my ankle… I never need much encouragement or provocation to skip a workout, but I said NO! go and work on your upper body at least.  It wouldn’t do to skip a workout on the second day.  I think I might buy a new outfit to encourage me to work out. When I was watching myself in the mirror on Monday, good grief. I looked horrible.  And isn’t the point of a diet to improve the way you look on the outside? I better go to target and find something cute but reasonably priced (because buying all these groceries is not cheap!).

Also, the breakfast for Day 2 was cottage cheese with cinnamon & splenda… who puts a packet of splenda on cottage cheese and says yum? NO THANK YOU! I threw that crap out after 2 mouthfuls.

I really enjoy eating. I look forward to eating. And on this diet, I’m supposed to eat every 4 hours. So I spend every minute in between meals watching the clock to see if it’s time for my next meal. I don’t think that’s the purpose of the every 4 hour dictate. There must be a diet out there for people who love to eat.

Restrictive diets always remind me that I could probably live without chocolate. But why would you want to? A wise woman once said that chocolate is proof that God loves us and to that I say AMEN!  Oh daily piece of chocolate, I miss you… Is a 6 pack worth the deprivation? Am I even too old for a six pack? Am I aiming too high?  How does the saying go, shoot for the moon, land among the stars?

Put on these paper panties and I’ll be back in a second…

LADIES (and Gentlemen)IN THE DETROIT METRO AREA! If you don’t already know about the Douglas J Aveda Institute in Royal Oak, it’s time to get acquainted.  I went last night for a bikini & underarm wax and only paid $52! Total! Now, those who get waxed know that’s a good deal.  The last time I had both done I paid $90.  If you will look at the Services Menu, you will notice that Bridal Makeup is only $25. TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS! I paid a whole heck of a lot more for my bridal makeup, so go check it out!

A few words of caution: if you are squeamish about multiple people being near your personal areas at one time, this is not the place for you. These are students, and the instructors will come in to examine their work. Also, be sure to feed the meter generously because the whole appointment took 2.5 hours. Yes, an extremely long time to be laying in one attitude.  So, just make sure you carve out the time in your schedule.

In any event, I was very please with my overall experience, and have booked a 1-hour stress relieving treatment (read MASSAGE) for my mother and I next week.  The cost? $34 each!! Can’t beat that price with a stick. They have these Institutes in other parts of the country, so take a look, you may be one of the lucky ones with this frugal find in your backyard.

That is all.
